Our blog will be focusing on creativity, the process of creating and the creations that come about from all of that.
Creating is the act of making something. Creativity is letting yourself think not just "what if?" but "how about?" Letting yourself imagine without the shackles of rules.
Creativity is an important skill for everyone. The tendency is to think of painters, sculptors, writers, dancers, and actors as creative people and the rest of us as non-creative, practical, and linear-thinkers. However, can you honestly look at the space shuttle and say creativity wasn't involved? Someone sat back and said what if instead of a rocket, it was more like a plane? What if we made it reusable? Engineers made it all work but first they imagined and dreamt.
The truth is that we are all creative. Remember building castles and forts from Lego's, sand, snow or whatever we had at hand? Remember drawing pictures?
The difference between "creative" people and the rest of us isn't that "creative" people are not listening when someones says "no" or "it can't be done." Creative people don't think outside the box or even think there is no box. Creative people think "How can I use the box?"
