Lately, I have gotten into doing adult coloring. As I was coloring my first picture, ways to use my pictures starting popping into my head. What a shame to do all this work and create a beautiful picture and have it hidden away in a drawer. One of the ideas that came to me was for my niece's baby shower. My sister-in-law sent out with the invitations a children's coloring book page along with a note asking the lades to color the picture and sign it. I was hoping at least half the people would do it. Well, little Luke was welcomed by everyone! Even people that couldn't make it sent their pictures in. Everyone has a busy life and the fact that people took the time to color these pictures means a lot. I scanned the pictures and printed them out on fabric. My next step is to design a quilt with them. I have so many images that the front AND back will be covered with them. The challenge is that each picture is a different size. I need to layout the front and back so similar sized drawings align. This way when I quilt all the layers together I am not putting a wavy line through the face of a cartoon character. Did I mention that I have never made a quilt before? Remember the last posting when I said to be bold while creating. I don't just talk about it, I live it.
