This past Sunday I was in a R&D mode. I downloaded a pattern for a pattern ornament and tried making it. As what usually happens with me, I deviated from the pattern - a lot. After several hours of trying different folding, cutting and gluing I ended up with a design or two that I liked. The lesson I learned from all the trial and lots of errors is one that I heard in kindergarten which reminded me that it is back-to-school time here in Pennsylvania. The saying is "If you don't succeed, try, try again." Oh, there are grown up versions of this. In fact, motivational speakers twist this, dress it up and make a lot of money over something we should have learned when we were 5 and 6 years old. We didn't tie our shoes right the first time, why is it we expect to master a new skill the first time? Give yourself a break. Take the time you need to create the image you have in your head. Here is one of the ornaments that I made. All it needs now is a hanger. Let me know what you think of this design. I'm open to all comments. Have a great day.
